Omugi Grainfed Beef – Every detail matters, no matter how small

Producing beef of the highest calibre

Since the first carton of Omugi rolled off the production line in 1988, they have been driven to produce great quality Australian beef. We believe you shouldn’t have to compromise when it comes to your beef-eating experience, so their philosophy has been, and continues to be, that every detail matters, no matter how small. Whether it’s their custom barley feeding regimes or their MSA grading protocols, the team of Omugi is focused and committed to producing beef of the highest calibre. That’s why the Omugi name stands for quality.

Their journey

They have come a really long way.

For decades, Omugi Beef has been at the forefront of Australian beef production. It all began in 1988, when they started producing quality grain-fed beef for the Japanese market. We knew even then that this was the first step in what would be a long and successful journey.

Fast forward to today, and it’s clear the global market is in demand for Omugi Beef. It’s this demand that drives them, not only to continue to serve our current markets, but to joyfully bring Omugi to the rest of the world.

When we say it’s the details that matter, we mean it. Over 30 years of knowledge and expertise have gone into creating Omugi Beef. We know how to produce grainfed beef, and we know what it takes to make it exceptional.

That’s why our Omugi cattle are sourced from their trusted livestock partners, so we know exactly where they’ve come from, with 100% traceability.

It’s also why they’re raised on some of the most pristine cattle environments in Australia, and why we’ve chosen to feed our cattle a custom barley ration. It’s the ‘secret’ ingredient that creates the unique flavour, texture, juiciness and light marbling that Omugi Beef is renowned for.

Japanese by name, Australian by nature

For over 30 years, Omugi has been exported to the discerning
Japanese market. Today, Omugi is more accessible than ever, and we’re excited to announce we’re now bringing our Omugi Beef to Europe.

The standard that matters;

Omugi Beef is graded by Meat Standards Australia (MSA), a global eating quality system developed through extensive research and consumer testing. Every factor is taken into account that affects eating quality. By measuring maturity, breed, meat colour, marbling, PH and acidity, through to nutrition, MSA is able to predict the quality of beef well before it’s on your plate, taking all the guesswork out for you.
As an MSA Producer, we also follow strict animal welfare, handling and transport practices, including traceability through the entire supply chain. Only beef that meets all of the specifications is identified as MSA Graded.
